Set of 6 19th Century Japanned Armchairs in the Regency Style

A superb set of six late 19th Century open armchairs in the Regency style, having caned seats and caned curved back rests. These antique japanned chairs are hand painted with gilt flowers and trellis to the arms and finely turned supports and legs. The set of armchairs are in good condition, the caning is good on all the seats and the back rests. There is slight wear to the painting on some areas of the arms, this is as you would expect on original painted chairs. The chairs are stable and stand evenly with no wobbles. A very unusual and decorative set of chairs for the dining room or as occasional chairs elsewhere in the home.
