18th Century French Copper Bowl
Dating from the 1700's, this copper vessel, sometimes called a "fountain bowl" stands on a deep stepped base and has heavy brass hoop carrying handles. It was probably used as a wash bowl in the bedroom of a country house. There is historic riveted repair to the base and rim and slight damage to the rim. These can be clearly seen in the photographs and in no way detract from the appeal of this very unusual object. The shape, size and rarity make this early copper bowl very desirable.
