18th Century Mahogany Mirror in the style of William Kent

A very striking overmantle three plate mirror surrounded by a rich mahogany and giltwood frame with carved oak leaf garlands to each side. This beautiful antique over mantle mirror is typical of the design made fashionable in the late 17th and early 18th Centuries when William Kent was a strong influence. This antique mirror has the original mercury plate which has a lovely soft patination and some atmospheric distressing to the edges of the glass. The main image of the mirror has been edited to remove reflections, the detail pictures show unedited mirror glass. The mirror is in lovely condition and would be an important and decorative addition to any interior scheme, perfect to create the country house look.
