19th Century Elm Blanket Box
A good Victorian elm blanket box with original metal carrying handles, brass escutcheon plate standing on a cleated base. This antique country blanket box has a good rich colour and the beautiful grain so typical of elm. There is some minor evidence of historic woodworm, this has been treated for peace of mind. The interior is clean and the patina good. A very attractive 19th Century elm chest offering versatility in the modern home, whether used to store linen in the bedroom or as a useful and decorative coffee table to add country style in the living room.
