19th Century Military Watercolour Painting by Griset
A most unusual and decorative antique watercolour painting by the distinguished French artist and illustrator Henri Griset, a member of the renowned Griset family and brother of the acclaimed artist, Ernest Griset. This superb watercolour is in lovely condition and is executed in a slightly amusing manner. The artistry of Griset is evident in the detailed quality of the work and the use of striking but subtle colour. This antique painting was purchased from descendants of the artist. Beautifully reframed in a striking silvered frame, the image deep mounted within the larger frame in the same silvered tones which compliments the picture perfectly.
