19th Century Teak Cabin Trunk/Coffee Table
A superb Victorian teak cabin trunk with the original brass studded leather corners, straps and carrying handles. The inside top of this rare 19th Century cabin trunk is brass banded and and the interior, which is immaculately clean, has brass corner plates. This lovely vintage trunk was privately commissioned by a family travelling to and from India in the late 19th Century and bears the brass inlaid initials of the owner (J G) to the top and front of the piece. The trunk has a painted number to one corner 'no 2' and was most probably one of a number of luggage pieces owned by the family. Presented in a lovely,clean condition, this is a unique antique trunk of a wonderful colour, construction and size that would add decorative versatility as a coffee table or storage anywhere in the home.
