Aesthetic Movement Inlaid Two Tier Foot Stool
An unusual 19th Century foot stool beautifully inlaid with satin wood, walnut and ebony in a geometric design. This geometric design is repeated between alternating inlaid bands on turned legs which terminate with the original ceramic castors. The top of this antique stool retains its original wool needlepoint upholstery in tones of red and blue on a subtle green ground. The lower tier is covered in green silk in a similar shade. The condition of the stool is good, there are signs of some historic restoration and marks to the wood work and some wear to the needlepoint, these are as can be expected of an antique item. As can be seen clearly in the photos, this does not detract from the appearance of the stool. This very decorative footstool with unusual lower tier for books or magazines would be an attractive and practical addition to any room.
