Carved Walnut Stool with Original Wool Needlework Upholstery
A very elegant carved walnut stool in the Regency style dating from the early 20th Century. This antique walnut stool stands on cabriole legs, has a carved, shaped apron and retains its original wool needlework cover. The condition is good, there is evidence of historic woodworm, now dead, this is minor and has been treated again as a precaution. There is evidence of some earlier restoration to the legs, this has been extremely well done and is very difficult to detect. The needlework is in excellent order, the colours are clear and bright. The stool stands well, it is firm and strong and the seat is well sprung and comfortable. A superb antique stool to place in any room, the lovely tones of predominately blues and greens with touches of red would blend with most colour schemes.
