Large 19th Century Blue & White Cheese Dish
A generously sized Staffordshire blue and white cheese dish dating from the 19th Century. The cover of this antique cheese dish is decorated with figures, birds, flowers and foliage on a beautifully hatched medium blue ground. This decoration is repeated on the stand. The condition is reasonably good, there is a very fine hairline crack to the inside of the cover, minor staining and chips to the underside of the stand, these small blemishes are to be expected from an antique piece that has been used for over 100 years. We have shown these clearly in the photographs. This large Victorian blue and white cheese dish would be an imposing addition to any dining table or a striking decorative item in the kitchen or on a dresser.
