Exquisite 19th Century Painted Leather Screen
A stunning late 19th Century leather screen beautifully painted with blossoms and exotic birds perched on branches and cliffs, this scene is continuous over the four panels. The shaded gilt background and studded borders provide an excellent foil to the decoration. The condition of the screen is good, there is very slight damage to two of the back panels but this is fairly minor and doesn't extend through to the front. This can be seen on the photographs of the reverse of the screen. The painting is in very good order and the colours are very sharp and bright. The screen stands well with no wobbles. This is a truely beautiful Victorian screen that would add luxury and glamour to any interior.
