Pair of William & Mary Oak Side Chairs
A good pair of late 17th Century oak side chairs, the splat backs supporting an unusual inverted cresting rail with scrolled carving. These superb William and Mary side chairs stand firmly on block and turned legs with a turned front stretcher. The chairs have a deep, rich colour and superb patination. There is a historic restoration to the underside of both seats, this is not unusual in chairs of this construction and age and does not affect the appearance or stability of these beautiful chairs. With their stylishly simple design, this pair of william and Mary period chairs would be an important addition to any interior.
