Regency Mahogany Games Table
An exquisite early 19th Century mahogany games table with burr walnut crossbanding and satinwood stringing to the top and side drop leaves. This Regency games table is raised on elegant ebony inlaid tapering legs which terminate with the original brass cupped castors. The top of the table slides out to reverse to a sycamore and mahogany chess board, and can be removed to reveal a backgammon board decorated with inlaid brass roundels. The drawers, one opening with a key, are inlaid with ebony stringing, with dummy drawers to the back, allowing for freestanding display within a room. This outstanding and versatile antique games table is the epitomy of English Regency elegance and would be an important and stylish addition to any interior.
