Regency Oval Mirror in Giltwood & Blue Glass Frame
A fabulous Regency mirror in a highly decorative giltwood and blue glass frame. This antique wall mirror has a giltwood frame with an inner border in an egg and dart design and unusual panels of deep blue glass. These panels are divided by carved shield motifs, suggesting a heraldic theme, the outer frame has floral and foliate carving. This is an outstanding antique oval mirror, the combination of giltwood and blue glass is superb and typical of the style, elegance and flare of Regency design in the early 19th Century. The condition of the mirror is very good, it is presented ready to hang in the home and make a dramatic impact.
