Victorian Papier Mache Tray Inlaid with Mother of Pearl

A very decorative 19th Century scrolled edge papier mache tray with mother of pearl inlay. The black background provides an excellent contrast to the painted gilt foliage and rim. This large antique tray is in good condition, there is evidence of historic restoration but this is not easily detectable and is not detrimental to the appearance. A beautiful piece from the Victorian era that adapts well to the present time for use as a coffee table or very decorative display item.
