This opulent pair of late 19th Century Gilt Candelabra would be perfectly positioned in a hallway, on a mantlepiece or side table or resting on a dining table to set the scene for a special occasion and add the weight of luxury in any interior.

3. 19th Century Wedgwood Sauce Tureen (SOLD)

With period costume dramas, such as ‘Victoria’ and ‘The Crown’ proving so popular throughout the world, classic English porcelain and china remain as popular as ever. This elegant 19th Century Wedgwood tureen is classic blue and white transferware, decorated with a floral pattern, stylised border, and an exquisite finial of leaves. This beautiful antique tureen dates from the mid-Victorian period and bears the clear Wedgwood backstamp for 1872. A charming piece for the dining table or to join a decorative collection.

4. Edwardian Crocodile Leather Dressing Case (SOLD)

It’s so unusual to find such a lavish, Edwardian dressing case in such excellent condition. Lined with purple silk moire fabric, this delightful purple crocodile leather dressing case contains a variety of original fittings and items that would have been regarded as necessities for an Edwardian lady when traveling. These include:

• Silver backed mirror brushes, bottles, and jars
• A jewellery box
• Needle case
• Card case
• Manicure set
• Letter opener
• Glove stretchers
• Spirit heater (for curling tongs) housed in a silver box

Many of these items are covered in purple leather and lined in the same luxurious purple silk as the interior.

Hallmarked London 1905, the case and leather contents are stamped with the name Mawson, Swan and Morgan, Newcastle, a highly prestigious retailer in the North East.

5. 19th Century Chinoiserie Lacquered Sewing Chest

Everyone at HMC is in love with this beauty. This exquisite 19th Century japanned sewing chest features a delicate chinoiserie design illustrating Chinese dignitaries in a garden attended by their servants. Framed with a dramatic border of dragons and birds, the gilt decoration, original brass swan neck handles and paw feet all add to its allure. Inside the chest lay a selection of sewing artifacts, possibly in bone, including antique buttons, still attached to their card. This beautiful antique chinoiserie box could be used as the most luxurious of jewellery boxes or as a fabulous decorative piece in any room.
