Born in Burgundy in 1707, Comte de Buffon was a devoted ornithologist and natural historian and is considered by some to be ‘the father of all thought in natural history’. In both subtle and vibrant colours, this set of four 18th Century copper plate engravings present a decorative study of beaks.
